NFL: Top 25 boldest predictions for the rest of the season: 17. Jonathan Taylor wins rushing title by more than 300 yards

Jonathan Taylor showed that he’s ready to take the crown of rushing champion after destroying the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football. He ran for 172 yards on just 19 attempts. Derrick Henry is going to miss at least a month and a half, but he is likely out for the rest of the season. Henry is still leading the league in rushing even with that masterful Jonathan Taylor performance, but it won’t last long.

Taylor is now 116 yards behind Henry. Unless someone goes literally crazy in Week 9, he will be well over 100 yards ahead of the player in third place. Nick Chubb, Joe Mixon, and Ezekiel Elliott round out the top five in yards. Elliott is the only one on that list that doesn’t have a serious injury history, as Mixon and Chubb have both missed games every season.

Taylor is going to continue to dominate on the ground as the Colts look to dig themselves out of the hole they find themselves in and make the playoffs. Taylor could get a few more 150-yard performances which will lead to an easy rushing title win for Taylor. It will be the first of his career, and it will come in dominating fashion. Nobody in the NFL will be within 300 yards of him by the end of the season. There will be injuries that hurt others, but Taylor will stay incredibly healthy while the rest of the league watches him run away with the title.
