Even though they keep playing teams close, the Minnesota Vikings continue to have a frustrating season which is now getting away from them. As has been the case often this season, this one came down to the wire as they were unable to hold onto their lead against the Baltimore Ravens. They were also unable to capitalize on a huge turnover in overtime.

Minnesota was up 24-10 but then needed a late touchdown from Adam Thielen to tie things up at 31 and force overtime. Once in the extra period, Anthony Barr got them the ball at their own 38-yard line with an acrobatic interception.

The Vikings only needed to get into field goal range to knock off the home team but instead, they managed to gain just one yard on three plays. They then punted it back to the Ravens who didn’t ever give the ball back.

Baltimore moved it 72 yards on 10 plays and hit a field goal with just 12 seconds left in overtime. That was the second game in a row where they lost at the end — after giving up a touchdown to Cooper Rush and Amari Cooper in Week 8 — and sent them to 3-5 on the year. At this point, it feels as though the seat under Mike Zimmer has become a full-blown inferno.
