It seemed as though the Las Vegas Raiders were due for a rough game. This team has battled adversity all season and should be praised for sticking together. However, on Sunday they fell to the New York Giants 23-16 in one of the many Week 9 upsets.

So what happened in this one? Pete Hernandez III from Just Blog Baby summed it up nicely when he pointed to the red zone struggles for Las Vegas on the day.

"“This proved to be the deciding stat line of the game: six red zone opportunities for the Raiders, with only one touchdown, three converted field goals, a missed field goal, and a fumble to show for it. Carr proved to be off with his passing all afternoon, but the red zone inefficiency was the nail in the coffin after Vegas’ defense kept the Giants in check.” — Hernandez, Just Blog Baby"

Hernandez also mentioned the 41-yard interception return for a touchdown from Xavier McKinney which was one of the many throws by Derek Carr that just seemed off.

Things are now cloudy in the AFC West as the Raiders fell to 5-3, which is a bummer for them as they could have really used a win to stay in first place.
