49. . . Previous: 1st. Green Bay Packers. 3. team
What a weird week it was for the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 and then this strange debate started because he said he was “immunized” and suddenly no one knew what in the world he was talking about.
He then went on the Pat McAfee show and went full-blown tin-hat guy. He then lost some sponsorships and was a focal point of Saturday Night Live’s jokes. In a week or two, none of it will matter but it did mean something this week since Rodgers was not allowed to play.
With him sitting, Jordan Love got his first career start and it was ugly. Love had just 190 yards through the air while completing 19-of-34 passes. He had a touchdown and a pick but they lost 13-7 to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Green Bay’s defense deserves a lot of credit too since they kept them in the game but they couldn’t get the one final stop to go for a final attempt at a game-winning drive. With all that being said, they slide a little in these 2021 NFL Power Rankings but once Rodgers is back, they’re sure to be one of the best — if not the best — teams in the NFC. This weekend was just a blip on what should be another season that has a deep playoff run.
