2022 NFL Mock Draft: Quarterbacks go No. 2 and 3 in Week 10 mock
By Randy Gurzi
There are several teams needing quarterbacks and while this class might not be elite, they still come off the board quickly in our latest 2022 NFL Mock Draft
It feels as though the offseason takes an eternity whereas football season is over in the blink of an eye. While there are still a couple of months left, we are already into Week 10 of the 2021 NFL Season even though it feels like we just got started.
The college football season is also flying by, which means we will be kicking into high gear when it comes to looking at potential NFL draft picks.
We have been already doing so here and continue bringing looks at the upcoming class with a 2022 NFL Mock Draft at Week 10. The order of this draft is determined by our latest NFL Power Rankings which has the Lions at No. 1, and while they skip on a quarterback, the next two teams gladly pick up a new signal-caller.
2022 NFL Mock Draft: Quarterbacks go No. 2 and 3 in Week 10 mock
1. Detroit Lions: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon
There will be those who think the Detroit Lions should go with a quarterback at No. 1 overall and their opinions are valid. Jared Goff has struggled this season and they’re yet to win a game. However, putting all of that on his shoulders feels unfair when looking at the lack of talent on this roster.
That’s why Detroit instead goes with the top player on the board, Kayvon Thibodeaux from Oregon. An absolute beast on the defensive line, Thibodeaux could be a game-changer who might swing a couple of the close games into the Lions’ favor.
2. Houston Texans: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss
Davis Mills could very well continue to develop and be a solid quarterback in the NFL but it feels like his ceiling is a journeyman backup or short-term stop-gap starter — at best. The Houston Texans understand this and end up moving on with the selection of Matt Corral from Ole Miss.
Corral has been on fire in 2021 and put himself in the conversation for being the top quarterback off the board — which is exactly what happens here.
