2021 NFL Power Rankings Week 11: Packers take top spot, Cowboys rebound
By Randy Gurzi
Derek Carr and the Las Vegas Raiders have continued to have one issue after another this season. Actually, for Carr, it’s been going on for a while.
We all know about some of the off-field issues that took center stage for the franchise this year involving Henry Ruggs, Damon Arnette, and Jon Gruden. Heck, Gruden even decided to sue to everybody for losing his job this year.
But for Carr, it was highlighted during this game how bad the defense he’s had working with him has been. The veteran quarterback has had to put up some crazy numbers just to get any wins. And that became even more difficult for him on Sunday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Carr was sharp with his passes all night but got almost no help, especially since the team is without a deep threat following the loss of Ruggs. They hoped DeSean Jackson could help in that regard, and he almost did.
Trailing by 10, Carr hit Jackson on a rather risky pass, but he still threaded the needle and completed it for 38-yards but then Jackson coughed it up which led to the Chiefs scoring again to go up 13.
Not long ago, the Raiders looked to be a top team and the Chiefs were falling apart. This game showed us that this has changed.
