3. David Montgomery returns back to form

Running back David Montgomery started out the season on fire. In Week1, he had to face the top rushing defense in the league. In 2020, the Los Angeles Rams didn’t give up a 100-yard rusher all season. Montgomery blew that in the first week of 2021. He ran for 108 yards, despite having the Bears play from behind all game long.

Even in the debacle that was Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns in which the offense mustered up just 47 total yards, Montgomery had 34 of those yards on the ground.

After four weeks, Montgomery ranked fifth in the league in rushing. Then he suffered a sprained knee late in the game in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions. He missed four games while on injured reserve.

Montgomery returned in Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a good game, rushing for 63 yards.

With the bye week, Montgomery should be even healthier. He could see the end zone multiple times. The Ravens rank fourth in rushing yards allowed, but rank 25th in rushing touchdowns allowed. A healthy Montgomery could have a big game.

The Chicago Bears’ rushing attack has been a positive for the offense. Even when Montgomery went down, Khalil Herbert held the fort, and the running game still performed well.

Now, with multiple players who can run the ball effectively, the Ravens have to pick their poison. Look for Montgomery to run over the Ravens’ defense.

Prediction: Montgomery runs for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns.
