NFL Thanksgiving Day prediction #3: Raiders reach a new low

Heading into their bye week on Halloween, the Las Vegas Raiders had to be feeling pretty good, all things considered.

Even after the resignation of head coach Jon Gruden, the Raiders found a way to win two games and go into the bye week in first place in the AFC West with a 5-2 record.

The bye week on has proven to be disastrous for the organization as a whole, with tragic events off the field leading to the team releasing both of last year’s first-round picks Henry Ruggs III and Damon Arnette.

On the field, the Raiders have been awful since the bye week.

They’ve gone from first place in the AFC West to a tie for last place in about as ugly a way as you can. They lost to the hapless New York Giants 16-23. They followed that dud of a performance with an embarrassing 14-41 loss at home to the Kansas City Chiefs.

They dropped to 5-5 this past weekend with a 13-32 loss at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals.

On Thanksgiving, I’m predicting the Raiders reach a new low this season — last place. I think they are going to get creamed on the road against the Dallas Cowboys and drop to 5-6 this season, leaving them in sole possession of last place in the AFC West.
