Minnesota Vikings (6-7) at Chicago Bears (4-9)

Monday, December 20, 8:15PM ET

I regret it every time I pick the Minnesota Vikings to win, but here I am doing it again. They’re coming off a solid (although unnecessarily dramatic) win and appear to be firing on all cylinders with only four weeks to go. But, at the same time, it is the Vikings.

Still, they’re clearly the superior team when held up against the Chicago Bears. Justin Fields has been erratic at best this season, and often makes too many mistakes for the team to overcome. And while the Chicago defense is exceptional on paper, they’ve had their butts handed to them far too often this season.

Meanwhile, the Vikings look like a legitimate contender — at times. Dalvin Cook is coming off a career game, and Justin Jefferson is having another ridiculous season. The Minnesota defense is solid at times, but tends to break down when it matters most. Still, if the Vikings offense can build a big enough lead on Monday night, it should be enough to get a much-needed win.

I don’t think the Vikings have won a single time this year when I’ve picked them to win, so blame it on me if they loss. Still, they’ve got to get it together if they have any hope of making the playoffs. That means winning winnable games, which this one definitely is.

Prediction: Vikings win 34-23 | Spread: Vikings (-3.5)
