2. Best coaching hire for the Minnesota Vikings: Nathaniel Hackett, OC, Green Bay Packers

Mike Zimmer’s time had come to a disappointing end. There’s a lot of blame to go around, but the buck stops at the head coach. Whoever the general manager is, they shouldn’t waste any time hiring Nathaniel Hackett.

One issue with Zimmer was his lack of detail when it came to the offense — Hackett will help with that. Here’s what you need to know about the new hot name floating around the coaching carousel.

Hackett has Aaron Rodgers playing at an MVP level again. He isn’t afraid of running the ball and working off play-action. Under Hackett, Rodgers isn’t throwing the ball downfield as much.

Instead, he’s eating up defenses with short quick throws. He coached Blake Bortles to one of his best seasons as a pro en-route to the playoffs. Imagine what’d he could do with Kirk Cousins and the elite talent at his disposal with the Vikings.

More importantly, he’s a guy his players love. Aaron Rodgers had nothing but praise for Hackett. It also doesn’t hurt that he knows the division. With the talent on offense and potential on defense, Hackett could have the Vikings in the playoffs year one.
