11. Washington Football Team: Kenny Pickett, QB, Pitt

There was a rumor for a minute that the Washington Football Team could be targeting Baker Mayfield this offseason, and they would dangle this No. 11 pick as trade bait. The rumor disappeared as quickly as it surfaced but the need for a new quarterback in the nation’s capital remains.

For that reason, they use their day one pick on Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett. He’s another player who took a major step forward this past season and has shown enough to warrant taking a flier on him as a potential starter.

Washington has a decent roster and adding a quarterback who can elevate their offense might be the only thing they need to become contenders in the NFC East once again.

player. Pick Analysis. CB. Ahmad Gardner. 60. Scouting Report. Cincinnati. 12

12. Minnesota Vikings: Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati

Mike Zimmer is out as the Minnesota Vikings decided they wanted to go in a new direction at head coach. His dismissal could lead to some big changes on their roster — including at quarterback should the new hire not be sold on Kirk Cousins.

Should that happen, it might change their approach to the 2022 NFL Draft but until we know what’s going on with those dominos, all we can do is try and pick the best player to improve their roster.

Here, that ends up being Ahmad Gardner from Cincinnati. A huge part of their big run this season into the College Football Playoffs, Gardner does not lack confidence and should be able to step in as a starter from day one.
