Bold predictions for the NFL divisional round

2. Jimmy Garoppolo outduels Aaron Rodgers

In 2019, the San Francisco 49ers ran through their competition on the way to a Super Bowl.  This year, after their Wild Card win against the Dallas Cowboys, the Niners have a great chance to continue their run through the NFL playoffs.

Against the Cowboys, they did what they needed to do to win.  They didn’t ask Jimmy G to do too much, and although he had a boneheaded turnover, he did what was asked of him.

The 49ers also rushed for 170 yards as a team, which is exactly what they’ll need to do this weekend.

Another notable stat is the 49ers did not allow a sack, either.  While I don’t the 49ers can get away with throwing the ball just 25 times, I think Jimmy G can have a day against Green Bay.

The Packers earned a bye week, so they’ve been resting for some time.  What if the Packers come out flat?  What if Aaron Rodgers and his timing are off?  What if the 49ers have a great game plan to limit Davante Adams?

The last time these two teams played was in the 2019 NFC Championship game, and the 49ers beat the Packers by 17 points.  Jimmy Garoppolo only threw the ball 8 times.  Obviously, the situations are a bit different, but the Packers and 49ers are still mostly the same teams, so can the Niners replicate that game plan this weekend?  I think they could.
