Browns could replace Baker Mayfield with Kirk Cousins

Arguably the best fit out of all of these names, Kirk Cousins is far from an elite quarterback, but the veteran is a steady contributor that can lead an offense and win games. While not a flashy name by any means, Cousins is now a grizzled veteran. He won’t put a team on his back and win, but he can lead a good offense to a lot of success.

Despite a surprisingly solid year with the Vikings, a disappointing finish saw their coach get fired. More than likely, Minnesota will look to move on from Cousins and his bloated salary. For a Browns offense that is built well, Cousins would be a perfect addition. He can rely on the potent running game and focus on connecting with Jarvis Landry in the passing game.

Given the Vikings’ desire to move on from Cousins and his salary, he could likely be had for a third-round pick. In return, the Browns would get a consistent quarterback that would be a great fit in this offense. While Mayfield has more flash, Cousins rarely implodes and tanks in games. This Browns offense needs consistency, and Cousins offers just that.

The Browns may choose to move on from Mayfield this offseason. If they do, they will need a new quarterback that can win now for a talented roster. With the quarterback carousel likely featuring multiple names, Cleveland should have their choice of who they want. That said, these four options make the most sense to lead the Browns offense.
