New York Giants could add Mitchell Trubisky to QB room in 2022

How well did Mitchell Trubisky develop this past year with the Buffalo Bills?

We’re all about to find out.

After a handful of years with very mixed results in Chicago as a former first-round pick, Trubisky hit the open market in 2021 and to nobody’s surprise, the market was pretty cold.

He found a home with the Buffalo Bills, which was a pretty ideal destination for Trubisky given his need to rehab his value in a substantial way.

It’s hard to know whether he really did that or not given the fact that he only threw eight passes this past season, but if anyone would know how well Trubisky progressed off the field in 2021, it would be Brian Daboll.

From Trubisky’s perspective, the Giants might be the ideal gig in 2022. Daboll is there, so Trubisky knows the system. Daniel Jones hasn’t exactly had the best start to his NFL career, either, so Trubisky might have a legitimate shot at winning the starting job with the Giants.

Again, the proof of how much Trubisky showed on the practice field and in the film room will be in whether or not the Giants decide to go after him at all.

On paper, though, this kind of a move does make some sense and it wouldn’t be the worst move for the Giants, who were trotting out Mike Glennon last year.
