Arizona Cardinals: Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa

The Arizona Cardinals had to be infuriated as they watched the NFC Championship game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.

The Rams and 49ers, two division rivals of the Cardinals, duking it out for the chance to go to the Super Bowl.

The Cardinals had the best record in the NFL for a good chunk of the 2021 season, but it amounted to absolutely nothing for them as they were quickly bounced from the playoffs.

What do they need to do to get over the hump?

One thing will be upgrading the offensive line.

This unit has taken a step forward in the last couple of years under offensive line coach Sean Kugler, but the Cardinals need a long-term solution at the right tackle position.

Will that solution end up being Josh Jones, a one-time NFL Draft steal?

Maybe.

Or it could be Northern Iowa’s Trevor Penning, who should be on your watch list as potentially the biggest potential NFL Draft riser from the 2022 Senior Bowl.

When Senior Bowl week is finally over, it wouldn’t be shocking if Penning was a lock for the top 15 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.
