NFL head coach hires: Mike McDaniel, Miami Dolphins

With the sudden and shocking departure of Brian Flores, the Dolphins underwent a head coaching search, clearly looking for an offensive mind to revive the offense and further develop Tua Tagovailoa.

I think the McDaniel hire is sensational.  McDaniel is highly thought of by Kyle Shanahan, his former boss, and absolutely reeks knowledge.

A Yale graduate, McDaniel has followed Shanahan throughout his coaching career, serving as the 49ers offensive coordinator this season.

Look for McDaniel to bring some of San Francisco’s staff over with him to Miami, and look for him to employ an outside zone scheme, further spreading the Shanahan offense over the entire NFL.

McDaniel is a quirky guy who gives off a college-frat-boy-best-friend vibe, and I think he is a great fit for the Miami Dolphins.

With that being said, I do not think Brian Flores should have been fired.
