EDGE. 3. 10. Pick Analysis. Aidan Hutchinson. player. Scouting Report. Michigan

3. Houston Texans: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan

With Lovie Smith being the choice for the Houston Texans as head coach there are two things that are evident. One, they should have just kept David Culley because they were clearly not ready for a big change — which they need. Two, they will probably focus on getting better on defense since this is Smith’s calling card.

With that being said, they pick up Aidan Hutchinson from Michigan to play defensive end. Hutchinson is the only edge player who is contending Kayvon Thibodeaux — and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him leapfrog the Oregon product.

However it falls, both Detroit and Houston can end up with game-changers for their defensive line.

Pick Analysis. S. player. Scouting Report. Notre Dame. Kyle Hamilton. 4. 30

4. New York Jets: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

The New York Jets had two picks in the 2021 NFL Draft and took Zach Wilson and Alijah Vera-Tucker as they aimed to improve their offense. That didn’t happen just yet but they do believe in their young quarterback and what his future can be.

In this mock, they start things out with a defensive player at No. 4 overall as Robert Saleh ends up taking one of the better chess pieces in the class. Kyle Hamilton is a safety for Notre Dame but can move all over the defense and wreak havoc. He should help them deal with some of the high-powered offenses they will need to eventually contend with in the AFC.
