Bengals 2022 mock draft round 4

While round four is later than one would want when addressing the defense, the line had to be a top priority for this team. Now the focus can shift elsewhere, starting with the cornerback room. Cincinnati is set to potentially lose Eli Apple this offseason (based on his track record, many may not see that as a loss). The team will need to add another capable starter at some point in the offseason.

While Josh Jobe won’t be a starter in year one, he has all of the makings of a decent outside cornerback for a team. He has decent size and a physical demeanor that makes him a bully at the line of scrimmage. Add in decent athleticism and he has all of the makings of a developmental cornerback. He can easily be counted on to contribute as a reserve early on.

His physical nature will lead to issues and will have to be toned back at the next level. For starters, he can get a little grabby and contact a receiver too much too early which will lead to penalties. As well, better receivers will be able to bait Jobe into getting too aggressive and then flying past him. He will need some work, but he would be a valuable addition to this cornerback room if drafted.
