2022 NFL Draft Combine riser: Arkansas WR Treylon Burks
Treylon Burks is one of the most dynamic and physically fascinating wide receivers in this year’s draft.
Like Gardner, he is likely a surefire first-round pick, but he needs to use the Combine to elevate himself even further. Burks is in a deep receiver class and can use his performance at the Combine to set himself apart from the other talented receivers.
Burks’ physicality is one of his biggest advantages as a pass-catcher standing at 6’3: weighing 230 pounds yet still boasting top-notch straight line speed at that size, with hands so large that custom gloves are a necessity.
Burks has been compared to Tennessee Titans receiver AJ Brown and similarities have also been seen with Seattle Seahawks deep threat DK Metcalf.
Like Metcalf, Burks’ ability to run a complete route tree has been called into question. Burks needs to put his versatility on display in Indianapolis by running a series of not only a variety of routes but polished as well.
If Burks can show the scouts that he is not just a big-bodied deep threat with speed but also a complementary route runner, he can climb the receiver rankings.
