Saquon Barkley trade destination no. 3: Buffalo Bills

Anytime you’re talking about potential trades going down in the NFL, you have to consider the relationships between front offices.

A great example of that would be the Matthew Stafford trade between the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams last offseason.

The Lions hired Brad Holmes away from the Rams as their general manager, and the two sides were able to agree on a trade for Stafford before the month of January was even over.

With Joe Schoen being hired by the New York Giants away from the Buffalo Bills, it’s likely that Schoen still has Bills general manager Brandon Beane in his contacts.

Given the open line of communication between the Bills and Giants, could we see a Saquon Barkley trade between these two teams?

I would say the Bills absolutely should make a call.

Although Devin Singletary and Zack Moss combined for over 1,600 yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns last season, a player like Barkley could help put the Bills over the top come January and February.

The Bills don’t necessarily need Barkley, but that doesn’t mean they should pass on the chance to get him if they’ve got one.

Barkley would easily step in as the RB1 in Buffalo, pushing Singletary to a RB2 role and make the Bills offense even more dangerous than it already is.
