No 4. Baker Mayfield to the New Orleans Saints?

The New Orleans Saints are reportedly very interested in acquiring the services of Deshaun Watson. Landing the Texans quarterback would help kick-start the post-Sean Payton era with an incredibly talented football player.

Let’s be honest. Last season was something pretty much something all Saints fans want to forget about as quickly as possible. While Jameis Winston was good, he suffered a serious injury and is now an unrestricted free agent. Back-up QB Taysom Hill is definitely not the long-term answer at QB.

However, the Saints are bidding against a ton of teams, including the Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, and Atlanta Falcons, according to PFT’s Mike Florio.

If the Saints lose out on getting Deshaun Watson, you should expect them to adjust their trade offer and pitch the Browns to bring Mayfield back closer to his native Texas.

No 3. Baker Mayfield to the Atlanta Falcons?

The Falcons have Matt Ryan firmly entrenched as the team’s starting quarterback. However, the former Boston College star will be competing in his age 37 season and his production has been in decline ever since Super Bowl LI.

You worry about the lack of weapons on this roster as things currently stand. While there are still a ton of talented free agents out there this offseason, the team has lost WR Julio Jones, WR Calvin Ridley, and scores of running backs in the past couple of seasons.

However, Mayfield would provide a youthful injection of life into this team and could attract some offensive skill players to join him in the ATL.

A tandem of Mayfield at quarterback and the freakishly great TE Kyle Pitts would be a great connection Falcons fans could watch for the next decade.
