No 2. Baker Mayfield to the Indianapolis Colts?

The Indianapolis Colts make a ton of sense to make a bid in acquiring Baker Mayfield. We have all seen the news by now that the team traded last season’s starting QB, Carson Wentz, to the Washington Commanders.

This essentially leaves the Colts without a QB1 for the 2022 season. A trade for Baker Mayfield would be an immediate upgrade and fill a massive need.

One immediate problem, however, could be the Browns’ hesitancy in trading him to another team within the AFC.

The Colts have to be careful here, though. They mortgaged a sizeable portion of their future to acquire Wentz. They cannot afford to miss on their next quarterback, especially if they have to give up multiple picks and/or players to get the deal done.

Mayfield might be worth it, though. Indianapolis is not exactly a premier free agent destination. So, they may have to trade for one or draft one.

This Colts roster is really solid on both sides. They are in win-now mode and would obviously prefer to find an experienced player to help push the Tennessee Titans for the AFC South playoff spot.
