10. Scouting Report. NC State. Ikem Ekwonu. 3. player. Pick Analysis. OT

3. Houston Texans: Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State

The Houston Texans held onto Deshaun Watson for a long time and in the end, they got what they wanted for him. Cleveland surrendered three picks in the first round as the Texans now have a ton of draft capital to work with.

As for their own selection in this mock, they start things off with Ikem Ekwonu who will be their new franchise left tackle. Ekwonu has become the No. 1 offensive tackle in this class and there’s still a shot he could go first overall. However, with Aidan Hutchinson taking that honor here, Ekwonu ends up going third.

Pick Analysis. Kyle Hamilton. S. Notre Dame. 4. player. Scouting Report. 30

4. New York Jets: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

It’s hard to find any player that’s more well-rounded in this draft than Kyle Hamilton from Notre Dame. He simply can do it all as he’s a capable safety in deep coverage, in the box, and can line up in the slot. It also wouldn’t be a shock to see him move into a bit of a hybrid linebacker role from time to time.

Here, he lands at No. 4 as the New York Jets bring him in to be the centerpiece of Robert Saleh’s defense. It’s not often a safety goes this high but Hamilton is well worth the hype and will be an impact player from day one.
