Pick Analysis. Cincinnati. Ahmad Gardner. Scouting Report. 9. player. 36. CB

9. Seattle Seahawks (via Denver Broncos): Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati

The Seattle Seahawks traded away Russell Wilson and that landed them the no. 9 overall pick in this draft — ironically enough, putting them one pick ahead of the New York Jets who own Seattle’s selection thanks to the Jamal Adams trade.

Seattle uses this pick on Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, who is an absolute stud at cornerback. The Cincinnati defensive back never allowed a touchdown as he helped his team advance to the College Football Playoffs in his final season.

Last season, Seattle lost Shaquille Griffin and now, they replace him with someone who has an even higher ceiling.

Pick Analysis. LSU. 10. player. Scouting Report. CB. Derek Stingley. 30

10. New York Jets (via Seattle Seahawks): Derek Stingley, CB, LSU

Last season, the New York Jets had two picks in Round 1 and used them on offensive players. They took Zach Wilson second overall then later grabbed offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker. This season, they again have two picks as they took Kyle Hamilton already at No. 4 and are back on the clock at No. 10.

Now, they make it back-to-back defenders in this draft as they select LSU cornerback Derek Stingley. After a great start to his career with the Tigers, Stingley had a drop in production but is still one of the better corner prospects in this class and should help Hamilton shore up this secondary.
