Kansas City Chiefs mock draft after Tyreek Hill blockbuster trade
Kansas City Chiefs mock draft, pick 30: Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State
Although he isn’t coming from a big FBS school, Christian Watson is one of the best skill players to come out of the FCS powerhouse North Dakota State program in recent years and it’s no surprise he pops off the tape when you watch Trey Lance’s 2019 tape for the Bison.
Even early on in his career at North Dakota State, Watson was making plays all over the field as a receiver, out of the backfield, and as a return man.
He showed off his athletic ability at the Senior Bowl in Mobile and again at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, and his combination of size and speed could be just what the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense needs.
Watson has been one of my favorite players for teams picking late in the first round that need a wide receiver because I think he’s going to be a good pro from day one and he’s got a unique blend of size and speed.
It’s not often you find guys with perfect RAS scores, but in this mock draft scenario, the Kansas City Chiefs — a team that traditionally prioritizes speed and athleticism in the NFL Draft — get two guys with 10/10 scores.
Patrick Mahomes would love a target with this kind of massive catch radius.
