4. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers had glaring needs on one side of the ball and they filled them with haste in free agency.

Their defense was among one of the worst units in the NFL in 2021, so, what did they do?  They added players to their defense.

JC Jackson came over via free agency, along with former Ram Sebastian Joseph-Day.  They also added some guy named Khalil Mack via trade with the Bears.

All in all, it’s been a very good free agency period for the Chargers, as they were also able to keep Mike Williams with a contract extension.

Their offense remained intact and they were able to rebuild their defense in free agency.  I would expect them to add to their offensive line in the draft and continue to build up their defense as well.

Justin Herbert is still on his rookie contract, so expect the Chargers to continue to be aggressive until Herbert’s future extension kicks in a couple of years down the road.

It would not surprise me to see the Chargers not only win the division but make a deep playoff run in 2022.
