Dallas Cowboys FA Target No. 2: Larry Ogunjobi, DT

For a brief moment, it appeared Larry Ogunjobi was off the market as the Chicago Bears agreed to a three-year deal with him worth $40.5 million. In the end, Chicago elected not to sign Ogunjobi to the deal as he reportedly failed a physical with the team.

There’s still a chance the Bears could bring him back but it remains to be seen if he’s going to get a deal that massive. While Ogunjobi is an underrated player, it is a bit more than expected and if his asking price does come down, the Dallas Cowboys should definitely give him a call.

Ogunjobi was a third-round pick for the Cleveland Browns and had 102 tackles with 11 sacks in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He saw a huge dip in production in 2020 as Cleveland moved him to the 1-tech but he rebounded nicely with the Cincinnati Bengals this past season as he had 49 tackles with seven sacks.

A foot injury ended his playoff run with the Bengals and he had to have surgery, which could explain the failed physical.

In Dallas, he would be a great addition to a defensive line that has talented players such as Osa Odighizuwa but could use depth. As long as they elect to keep him at the 3-tech, he could provide them with a very skilled interior pass rusher.
