Top five NFL teams in NFC heading into 2022
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In a shocking turn of events, Bruce Arians abruptly retired and named Todd Bowles the new head coach. It’s a great scenario for Bowles; he gets to command a very good team with the un-retirement of Tom Brady.
The Buccaneers went 13-4 in 2021, boasting the third-ranked scoring offense and 5th ranked scoring defense.
They lost in the divisional round to the Los Angeles Rams and are indeed bringing back their main core again for 2022. They re-signed Gio Bernard, Leonard Fournette, Chris Godwin, Ryan Jensen, and Carlton Davis among others.
They traded for Shaq Mason and also signed Russell Gage.
It’s unknown how long Brady is going to play for after un-retiring, but the Bucs have another great roster.
Couple that with them being in the NFC South, which might be the worst division in the NFL, and it’s easy to see why Tampa Bay could have another 13 win season.
I gave the Bucs second place in the NFC since they took two losses to the number one seed in the NFC and Super Bowl 56 champion.
