Being as aggressive as they are, the New Orleans Saints traded with the Eagles and now Washington and secured two first-rounders in the 2022 NFL Draft; the first is Chris Olave.

The New Orleans Saints have done it again. They have moved up with Washington to secure the 11th overall pick in the draft. The price? A third and fourth-rounder in 2022.

So that begs the question, what made New Orleans give up future capital to ensure that they have two first-rounders this year? The answer is simple, at least from a spoken perspective, it’s likely a quarterback or an impact player that you believe can be the face of your franchise.

New Orleans doesn’t have that right now, as their face of the franchise is at NBC, i.e., Drew Brees.

The Saints chose Chris Olave with the 11th overall pick to make a long story short. Back-to-back picks for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and now Olave gets to join Michael Thomas to help continue the offensive success for New Orleans.

Chris Olave looks to provide more help for the New Orleans Saints by going 11th overall.

Last season, Olave finished with over 900 yards and 13 scores. Ohio State may not have had Olave in the Rose Bowl, but he had a significant impact in helping them get to that position. Moreover, it continues a strong tradition.

But Columbus is in the rearview mirror. Now, it’s all about Olave coming to New Orleans and helping the Saints get back to their division title roots and wrestling that away from Tampa Bay. Jamies Winston is a fan of having a receiver be able to run deep routes, and Olave fits that mold.

The Saints were aggressive, and it looks to have paid off. Olave is a talented receiver, but time will tell if giving up so much draft capital was worth the gamble in Vegas.
