Tennessee Titans join Minnesota Vikings among worst 2022 NFL Draft trades

3. The Howie Roseman Heist

Howie Roseman strikes again.

Does anyone love making trades more than this guy? Okay, maybe Les Snead. But Roseman is a close second.

Roseman has always been one to wheel and deal and he made arguably the best trade of the 2022 NFL Draft when he acquired wide receiver AJ Brown at a severely discounted rate.

The Eagles owned the 15th and 18th selections coming into round one of the 2022 NFL Draft and they ended up with 13 and AJ Brown, surrendering just a compensatory third-round pick on top of their first-rounder to achieve the Brown side of that deal.

I have nothing against the selection of Treylon Burks for the Titans.

The issue here is the value the Titans got in return for AJ Brown. How long have they been working on this trade?

How could they not extract better selections out of the Eagles to make it happen?

Philadelphia was clearly motivated to get Brown and receivers have been going for a premium rate all offseason. Especially with the threat of the franchise tag next year, how could Tennessee not get at least a second-rounder or even Philadelphia’s better third-round pick in this deal (83rd overall)?

This was such a poor trade by the Titans and bad business. AJ Brown had become a core player for them and he was supposed to pair with Robert Woods to rejuvenate that passing game in 2022.

Now, it will be up to the rookie Treylon Burks to make it happen.
