Cincinnati Bengals 2022 NFL Draft grade: B

31. Daxton Hill, DB, Michigan
60. Cam Taylor-Britt, CB, Nebraska
95. Zachary Carter, DL, Florida
136. Cordell Volson, OL, North Dakota State
166. Tycen Anderson, DB, Toledo
252. Jeffrey Gunter, LB, Coastal Carolina

The reigning AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals set out to improve their offensive line in free agency, and they did exactly that.

They added Ted Karras, La’El Collins, and Alex Cappa to help protect Joe Burrow, and they’re also expecting progression in year two from 2021 second-round pick Jackson Carman next to left tackle Jonah Williams.

With the offensive line taken care of, the Bengals were able to focus on other need areas, specifically attacking the defensive backfield pretty heavy in this year’s class.

Starting with Daxton Hill, the Bengals got themselves a scheme versatile defensive back who can come in and fit as a deep safety, nickel corner, dime ‘backer — he can do it all and excel.

Cam Taylor-Britt can also play inside or outside and between he and Dax Hill, the Bengals are getting two extremely tough, aggressive playmakers on the back end who are going to help this unit continue to set the tone.

Zachary Carter had 17.5 sacks over the last three seasons at Florida and while he may have been a bit of a reach to some at pick 95, he’s got a chance to play right away with the departure of Larry Ogunjobi.

On day three of the Draft, the Bengals got a potential special teams ace in Tycen Anderson, a speedy safety out of Toledo.
