Tom Brady will not be leaving television anytime soon after he announced that he will join FOX Sports as a broadcaster following his eventual retirement.

Looks like Tom Brady won’t be leaving your television anytime soon, he’s got a new deal and a fat check to go along with it, thanks to FOX Sports.

According to FOX Chairman Lachlan Murdoch, the seven-time Super Bowl champion will be joining the network whenever his career ends. Per reports, it is a 10-year deal with an upwards of over $300 million.

Clearly, this was big news, as Brady is still under contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Also, he gets to join Tony Romo and Peyton Manning amongst a select group of quarterbacks who now get to occupy broadcast roles.

For the most part, the news was well-received, and several members of FOX reached out to express their congratulations.

Even Shannon Sharpe, who has been vocally critical of Brady for so long, expressed his gratitude and respect for the quarterback for joining the network. Co-Host Skip Bayless, a longtime Brady fan, was overjoyed.

Despite no experience in the broadcast booth, Brady will become a highly paid analyst, and the goal is to have him and Kevin Burkhardt as the voices of FOX to replace the departed Troy Aikman and Joe Buck.

Again, despite no experience, it will be interesting to see how he performs at this stage, similar to how Manning is operating with the Manningcast.

However, like in all professions, some won’t be happy with this move for several reasons. One notable person is quite obvious, and coincidentally, this individual happens to work at the same network as Brady soon will. Who is that? It’s one Rob Parker.

The Fox Sports Radio host has been overly critical of Brady for so long, publishing several “hit pieces” about Brady for Deadspin and delivering hot takes on television and radio about the quarterback from 2011 onward, notably the “Move to Mexico” incident and the “LOAT” comments.

It will be interesting to see if the two ever cross paths at the network and how the interactions go down.

Again though, it’s an excellent move for Brady to have something to fall back on after he officially hangs up his cleats. We saw how Rob Gronkowski fared in his very short time, but because of this contract, it’s highly likely that when Brady joins the booth, he won’t leave for the field again, or will he?

The saga continues, and again, congrats to Tom Brady on landing this new gig. Polarizing or not, it’s better when he’s involved in the game.
