6. Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers

2021 stats:

  • 1,667 yards from scrimmage
  • 10 total touchdowns
  • 74 receptions

Was there any doubt that Najee Harris would get a massive workload immediately last season from the Pittsburgh Steelers?

First of all, the Steelers took him in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. There’s no point in taking a running back in round one if you aren’t going to get an immediate return on investment.

For Harris, there’s no question about his three-down abilities but seeing him this heavily featured in an offense was new, even though he was the RB1 for Alabama.

As a rookie, Harris touched the ball a whopping 381 times. Even Le’Veon Bell in his hayday with the Steelers only topped that number once.

With either Mitchell Trubisky or a rookie quarterback on tap for the Steelers in 2022, could we see Najee Harris top 400 touches?

It’s not out of the realm of possibility.

Don’t be shocked if this guy leads the league in all-purpose yards this season.
