Building an offense with remaining NFL free agents
Wide receivers – Julio Jones, Will Fuller, Emmanuel Sanders
This is a nice trio of pass-catchers. Julio Jones is 33 years old. He’s 6’3″, 220 pounds, and perhaps one of the most physically dominant receivers in NFL history.
He’s struggled with injuries his entire career, but he’s a first-ballot Hall of Fame player who should still have a couple of years of gas left in the tank.
His short tenure with the Titans was underwhelming, and he’s probably best fitting as a complimentary piece to an offense instead of the highlight of the unit.
Will Fuller is another talented receiver who has struggled with injuries his entire career. He’s still on the right side of 30, so he has that going for him.
He’s got the best chemistry with Deshaun Watson, so I would think the Browns would sign him at some point. His top-end speed makes defenses respect that, which could allow other offensive players to get open.
I don’t think Will Fuller has ever shown the ability to be a true WR1, but he’s got enough talent to function as a top-end WR2 with a low-end WR1 ceiling.
The last receiver in this trio is Emmanuel Sanders, who is like the wide receiver version of Jared Cook. He’s old but has always put up respectable numbers.
He’s got three career 1,000-yard seasons when he was with the Denver Broncos and managed 626 receiving yards with the Bills this season.
He’s good to miss a few games per year, perhaps because of his smaller frame, but Emmanuel Sanders is still a massively talented player who could help quite a few teams.
