The Green Bay Packers had three picks in the top 34, but they still might have some regrets about players they passed on in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Green Bay Packers have made plenty of unpopular decisions in recent years, but perhaps especially in the 2022 offseason.

The Packers’ decision to trade Davante Adams — regardless of his personal desires — simply feels like a foolish move considering the fact that Aaron Rodgers already didn’t seem to have enough weapons.

With Adams out of the picture, the pressure is even more on Rodgers to put the team on his shoulders.

As for the 2022 NFL Draft, it was more of the same from the Packers. You can’t fault general manager Brian Gutekunst for building what might be one of the most talented defenses in the league, which he has done.

He went after two players from the vaunted Georgia defense in round one and moved up into the top of round two for North Dakota State wide receiver Christian Watson.

What players might the Packers regret passing on in this year’s draft? Let’s take a look at three.

Packers may regret passing on Georgia WR George Pickens

Jumping directly to the Packers’ selection of Christian Watson at pick no. 34 overall, a selection they acquired from their division “rival” Minnesota Vikings, you can’t help but wonder if Brian Gutekunst will ultimately regret passing on Georgia wide receiver George Pickens.

Just like Christian Watson, Pickens is a big-bodied receiver with an outstanding catch radius and a ton of big-play ability.

Unlike Watson, however, Pickens proved himself against top competition in the SEC.

There’s nothing wrong with what Watson did against FCS competition at North Dakota State. His skills and traits can still absolutely translate to the NFL level.

However, it feels like the only justifiable reason to take Watson over Pickens in this draft is if you’re really worried about Pickens’ health going forward.

Watson has reportedly struggled early on at Packers OTAs while George Pickens has been rather impressive for the Steelers.

We’ll see how the Packers’ faith in Christian Watson works out. There’s a ton of pressure on him early on to perform at a high level given he will be the de facto WR1 in Green Bay.
