NFL breakout receiver no. 2: George Pickens, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pick Analysis. George Pickens. player. Scouting Report. WR. Steelers. 2. 55

This video should say it all about George Pickens. The dude is an absolute madman, and the Steelers now have a 6’3″ stud with a major chip on his shoulder who’s going to seriously bring it in 2022. Only legends stand like that while watching themselves get drafted.

Pickens barely played his junior and senior seasons at Georgia, but his limited tape will adequately demonstrate just how skilled he is at the position.

He’s big. He’s long. He’s super physical. He’s fresh. And this dude is ready to kick some ass in the pros.

Chase Claypool broke out in 2020 with one of the weaker quarterbacks in the league throwing to him. Diontae Johnson broke out last season with the same situation at quarterback. I can’t imagine a player like Pickens can’t do just as well in a very similar situation this season.

Mitch Trubisky? Mason Rudolph? Rookie Kenny Pickett? It doesn’t matter. The Steelers will probably not be “Grade A” at the quarterback position this year, but as an organization, they are good enough to find ways to win games and break young stars out.

Pickens is going to find his spots. Mike Tomlin will make sure of it.
