For the second season in a row, the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers play in Week 1. Here’s all the information you need to catch the game.

2021 started in heartbreak for the Dallas Cowboys as they lost on the road to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-29. The defending champs took the win thanks to a last-second field goal from Ryan Succop, but the Cowboys deserved credit for the way they fought in that one.

The two teams made the playoffs but didn’t get a shot at a rematch, but that will change as soon as the 2022 season begins. The Cowboys will host Tampa Bay this year on Sunday Night Football in Week 1.

Here we look deeper at the game as we check out the odds as well as make a prediction on the outcome.

Cowboys vs Buccaneers Odds Week 1

As expected, the Bucs are favored heading into this game, but with only a -2.5 spread. It was close a year ago and oddsmakers expect the same now. As for the moneyline, that’s at -136 for Tampa Bay and +106 for Dallas. The over/under sits at 50.5, a number they crossed in their last meeting.

Cowboys vs Buccaneers Prediction Week 1

Dallas nearly got the win in Week 1 a year ago and they do have a few things going their way entering this showdown. One is that Dak Prescott is fully healthy, whereas he was playing in his first game since breaking his ankle in 2020 and dealt with a shoulder injury in the preseason before meeting Tampa Bay.

Another is how far their defense has come. Dan Quinn has done a masterful job turning that unit around and they’re expected to be even better this season.

Having said that, they’re also much worse at wide receiver and along the offensive line. That’s going to cause them problems and in the end, it will be too much to overcome. Tampa Bay wins 28-24.
