The Super Bowl Hangover is real for the Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals seem to be the latest victim of the Super Bowl Hangover, as the team is 0-2, losing to Pittsburgh and Dallas – both teams running out with below-average quarterbacks in Mitch Trubisky and Cooper Rush.

Defense is the least of Cincinnati’s concerns, as its offensive line looks the same as last year, if not worse. Despite signing La’el Collins, Alex Cappa, and Ted Carras, Joe Burrow has been sacked 13 times through two games.

The offensive line was the clear weak spot in 2021, and after these additions, it looked that the Bengals truly had no clear holes on the roster. However, it still looks like the offensive line is the main problem. Burrow does have to get the ball out quicker, as he tends to hold onto the ball, looking for a big play down the field. Nonetheless, this offensive line has to step up.

This is another example of why teams may need to give the starters some snaps in the preseason. The offensive line has not gelled together, and Burrow’s appendectomy in the offseason has caused him to be rusty and not on the same page with his weapons.

This can be fixed, but the Bengals starting 0-2 is more than concerning, and if these offensive line issues continue there is a chance this team misses the playoffs in a stout AFC.
