The Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints are set to kick off this year’s NFL International Series with a matchup in NFL Week 4. This matchup brings back memories of the 2017 NFC Championship game in which we got the Minneapolis Miracle. Remember Case Keenum’s epic pass to Stefon Diggs? The stakes are much different in this particular Vikings vs. Saints matchup and both Keenum and Diggs are now teammates in Buffalo.

The Vikings started off the season with a huge win against the Green Bay Packers but followed that up with a blowout loss on Monday Night Football to the Philadelphia Eagles, who might be the best team in the NFC right now. They bounced back in Week 3 with another divisional win against the Detroit Lions.

The Saints have had a rough start to the year. They needed a pretty epic comeback to beat the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, but they’ve since lost two division games in a row to the Buccaneers and Panthers. Given how tough it is for teams to play in New Orleans, they’re also having to sacrifice their home-field advantage in this matchup vs. Minnesota. Can New Orleans break their two-game losing streak against Kirk Cousins and company in this game? Can the Vikings improve to 3-1?

Vikings vs. Saints preview and predictions

This is a matchup between two NFC teams seemingly headed in very different directions. Minnesota seems formidable under new head coach Kevin O’Connell and his staff, which includes defensive coordinator Ed Donatell. As of Week 3, the Vikings look poised to compete for a Wild Card spot in the NFC at the very least while the Saints just seem a bit of a wild card in general.

On any given week, you aren’t quite sure what version of Jameis Winston you’re going to get, but that’s part of the fun of watching him play, isn’t it? Winston has plenty of weapons at his disposal offensively so the Saints are a clear threat to put up big numbers offensively if he can limit turnovers.
