NFL Power Rankings: Top 10 teams in the league heading into Week 6
NFL Power Ranking No.4 Baltimore Ravens (3-2)
What are they? Elusive on offense
Lamar Jackson is determined to lead his team to the playoffs – especially after a noisy off-season. Baltimore’s front office refused to offer their franchise quarterback a contract extension – providing No.8 with an opportunity to set the price for his next contract with his play this season.
Dual-threat abilities give Greg Roman’s offense a different dynamic than other opponents. Jackson’s 97.9 quarterback rating is ranked 6th in the NFL. His scampers on the ground have accumulated 374 yards – ranking 9th among all rushers.
Nothing is impossible with Jackson under center. Baltimore’s victory in Week 5 showed No.8’s resilience in primetime. Baltimore defeated the Cincinnati Bengals with a last-second field goal – the finishing touch on a solid four-quarter performance. If the Ravens’ defense can improve throughout the regular season, the Ravens will be a team to watch entering the playoff hunt.
NFL Power Ranking No.3 Kansas City Chiefs (4-1)
What are they? Veterans in the AFC
Life without Tyreek Hill hasn’t affected production in Kansas City. Patrick Mahomes continues to show Hall of Fame promise. Four passing touchdowns in a comeback victory against the Raiders on Monday Night Football came with ease. In five weeks, Mahomes accumulated 15 touchdowns – almost half of his total from the season before.
Offensive performances keep the Chiefs ahead of their opponents. Their offense is ranked fifth in yards per game (381.4). Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Travis Kelce carry the workload for Eric Bieniemy’s squad. Both receivers average more than ten yards per reception. Improvements on defense will help the Chiefs find their footing at the top of the Conference standings. If Patrick Mahomes continues his dominance, we can expect to see the Chiefs in the playoffs.
