Tom Brady is responsible for the Buccaneers’ offensive woes
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are teetering towards disaster mode, especially on the offense, and Tom Brady is largely responsible for the mess. Don’t let the 20-18 score fool you. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, including Tom Brady, have looked lifeless on offense for much of this season. The Steelers were fortunate because of it.
Tampa Bay had an explosion of offense against Kansas City, but for much of this season, the team has looked terrible on both sides of the ball. Yes, the defense too. They have been suspect at times.
But it’s mostly the offense, and it starts with the quarterback. Whatever it is, it’s got to be fixed if Tampa Bay wants to contend for a title in what could likely be Brady’s last season in the NFL. This is not what he came back for.
It’s easy for comedians like Sarah Tiana and others (Antonio Brown) on social media to make fun of Brady’s off-the-field situation within his personal life, and it’s easy to blame that. Last we checked, going through a divorce is not as funny as folks in the toxic cesspool of Twitter make it out to be.
The Buccaneers look like a disaster at this point in the season. They do. They don’t have a bye till November, and from the looks of it, can we trust this team will resort to their 2020 ways? Probably not.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not going anywhere unless Tom Brady and the offense gets it together.
Granted, this is Tom Brady. If anyone can work through this, it’s him. But it looks like even he can’t escape the turmoil. Something is bothering him, and it’s not easy to handle, but he’s got no choice but to endure it. The only saving grace is that because of the win over Atlanta, the Buccaneers still are atop the division, but that could change at any point if this train of issues continues to hurt the season. The Panthers are next, and they have absolutely nothing to play for and will look to play spoiler.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way let’s wrap it up with this. Brady is who he is, and he’s a great player. But he’s got so many issues right now, and he is human; let’s not forget that. That said, the offense has not been good, and if things don’t change soon, Brady’s run in Tampa will primarily be remembered by how it ended rather than how it started, which was quite glorious. That’s not good.
Time’s ticking, Tampa Bay. What will you do about it, and how will you (and Tom Brady) do it? The floor is yours.
