2. Jerry Jeudy could be a fit for the Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers aren’t seemingly interested in investing major assets at the wide receiver position, so I wouldn’t be holding my breath with this or the Chase Claypool rumors floating around. But if we have an opportunity to talk about the Packers needing to make a very obvious move at the wide receiver position, I’m here for it.

I don’t understand why general manager Brian Gutekunst has failed so badly in this regard, but he has. Aaron Rodgers’ number one target this season has been rookie fourth-round pick Romeo Doubs. Allen Lazard is the team’s other top receiver with players like Randall Cobb and Sammy Watkins rounding out the crew. Oh, there’s also rookie second-round pick Christian Watson, who has been disappointing thus far.

The Packers and even Aaron Rodgers presumably had interest in Jerry Jeudy earlier in the offseason when rumors about Rodgers and the Broncos were still a thing. There may be even more validity to the Packers trading for Jeudy now than there was over the offseason because Jeudy has now had time on task in Nathaniel Hackett’s offense, which is supposed to be an iteration of what we saw from Green Bay the last handful of years.

Again, we’re not exactly seeing anything prolific from the Broncos right now, but Jeudy has been in a similar offense with similar concepts, so one of the biggest hurdles NFL teams face in trades — major scheme changes — is already cleared, to a degree.
