NFL Week 9 Reactions: Aaron Rodgers’ turnovers extend Packers losing streak

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense continue to consume space in the tabloids. Their production with the football is dismal – resulting in five consecutive losses. A 15-9 divisional loss against the Detroit Lions could be considered the worst defeat of the season. Rodgers failed to protect the football – throwing three interceptions in scoring territory.

Playoff odds for Matt LaFleur’s squad decrease each week. Green Bay ranks twenty-seventh in points per game (17.1) this season with Rodgers under center. Their offense is ranked fifteenth in passing yards per game (224.7) – below the expectations of fans and respected analysts.

Divisional standings place the Packers in second place. A 3-6 record is disappointing, but there is still time to save the season. Upcoming games against the Cowboys, Titans, and Eagles will test LaFleur’s squad. Two of the next three challenges are scheduled for Lambeau Field – providing the Packers with a slight advantage in a fight-or-flight situation.
