Chicago Bears take on the Buffalo Bills in a Week 16 matchup
Players keep going down, but they have help on the way
As I mentioned, injuries have taken a toll on the Chicago Bears this season. Everyone on the offensive line except for Braxton Jones and Sam Mustipher has missed games due to injuries.
Lucas Patrick was supposed to be a big part of the offensive line but has missed nearly the entire season. Cody Whitehair and Larry Borom missed four games.
Last week, offensive lineman Teven Jenkins, wide receiver, Equanemious St. Brown, cornerback Jaylon Johnson, and linebacker Jack Sanborn all got injured. The status’ of St. Brown (concussion) and Jenkins (neck) are not known yet (though both likely don’t play).
Jenkins already missed two games due to injury. However, he had what looked like a serious neck injury early in last week’s game. He was hospitalized but is ruled day-to-day. Even if he is better, don’t expect the Bears to put him in this week. He is a big part of the unit going forward so the team shouldn’t risk his health in a lost season.
St. Brown is in a similar situation. He is in concussion protocol so it’s not up to him or the team. Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker also had that and they missed two games each.
The Bears do have help coming in, though. N’Keal Harry and Chase Claypool both missed last week but should return this week. Additionally, Khalil Herbert, the Bears’ leading rusher who isn’t named Justin Fields, came off injured reserve. He is expected to return.
Herbert’s return solidifies the incredible Chicago Bears’ rushing attack. They had a three-headed monster in Fields, Herbert, and David Montgomery.
Let’s see who steps up to help the Bears come up with a big upset win.
