Once again, the Kansas City Chiefs are NFL Champions as they were able to secure a 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

While the game is still fresh in our minds, 31 other teams are preparing to go after the title next season. In order to do so, they’ll have to prove they’re better than the champs and these five teams are in the best position to knock them off the mountaintop.

5. San Francisco 49ers

Every year, the San Francisco 49ers seem to be dealt a rash of injuries but every year, they fight through it and put together an impressive season. That was the case again in 2022 as they lost Trey Lance in Week 1 and Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 12.

Brock Purdy stepped in and was magnificent, guiding them to the NFC Championship Game. Unfortunately, he was injured in that one and the Niners never stood a chance against the Eagles.

Even with the loss, they’re one of the top-five teams in the NFL entering the offseason and will again be among the favorites in the NFC.

There are concerns that Purdy could still be hurt heading into the 2023 campaign but if Lance is healthy, their offense might actually be even better. Even with Purdy playing very well, Lance was the No. 3 overall pick for a reason and we have yet to see Kyle Shanahan unleash him.
