3. Kaleb McGary, RT

Kaleb McGary was a 2019 draft pick and was, to put it lightly, awful during his first three seasons.  He caught on a bit in year four and did seem to excel as a run blocker.

However, as a full product, I’m not sure I could see the Broncos wanting to invest perhaps $15 million per season for a right tackle who has had one good season and is a bit rough in pass protection.

I just think between the contract he’ll likely demand and his limited good tape, this would be a bad target for the team.

4. Jamaal Williams, RB

The Denver Broncos need to find a new running back for 2023 until Javonte Williams gets healthy from the torn ACL he suffered at the beginning of the 2022 season.

However, I do not like the idea of Jamaal Williams in Denver, as he’ll likely command a hefty salary given his performance in 2022.  Williams was only able to 4.1 yards per carry in 2022 behind a top-three OL in football in the Detroit Lions.

This was also his first 1,000-yard rushing season after primarily being a backup running back.  I don’t like this fit, at all.  He’s also not much of a receiving back, and that’s the type of player that Sean Payton likes.

5. Nelson Agholor, WR

I think the Broncos need to add a veteran pass catcher in 2023, but I think Nelson Agholor would be the worst addition.  He’s been able to carve out a role in the NFL as a WR3 type, but his inconsistencies are a giant turn-off to me.

After a career year in 2020 with the Raiders, he signed a two-year deal with the Patriots and was only able to muster 473 yards and 362 yards in his two seasons.  The Denver Broncos cannot afford to invest even a few million dollars in someone who has not been super consistent.

Someone like Jarvis Landry would make a ton of sense instead of Agholor.
