Outside of the quarterbacks, the most fascinating free agency situation was that of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Having missed the whole of last season, it would be interesting to see what transpired for the former offensive rookie of the year.

Beckham hasn’t had the best time in recent years, quite unlucky in truth. One of the most explosive game-changers in the league just can’t seem to stay healthy. Four of the last five seasons that Beckham played were cut short due to a season-ending injury of some kind.

But the last time we saw Odell Beckham play, he was well on his way to being crowned the Super Bowl MVP. He had two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in the second quarter before a non-contact injury ruled him out for the rest of the game.

During his short stint with the Los Angeles Rams, Beckham had 48 catches for 593 yards and 7 touchdowns in just 12 games. Any doubts of whether Beckham could still play at a high level due to his poor stint in Cleveland seemed to have been dealt with.

Reports from Adam Schefter suggest that the Baltimore Ravens have made an offer for the star wide receiver. This comes at a time when the Ravens aren’t sure what their quarterback situation will be at the start of the new season.

How eager will Beckham be to sign with a team not knowing who the starting quarterback will be?

The prospect of pairing Odell Beckham with quarterback Lamar Jackson is an exciting one if Jackson does indeed stay. This would be the first time that the Ravens would provide a legitimate outside threat for Jackson and maybe that would be key in getting him to come to an agreement and stay.

Ultimately, whoever gets Beckham will be adding an elite playmaker to their offense and a player that can help any quarterback succeed by making plays. If Baltimore does get Beckham and manages to keep Jackson, this adds an entirely new dynamic to their offense and they could be front runners in the AFC.
