The 2023 NFL Draft included a grand total of 259 picks, 14 of which were quarterbacks. We saw a substantial increase in interest at the position around the league compared to a year ago with 12 QBs flying off the board in the first five rounds, an NFL record.

In total, 14 quarterbacks were selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. Some of these signal-callers will be asked to come in and play immediately, while others may not even be on the same team they were drafted by in just a few months. Let’s take a look back at every quarterback selection in the 2023 NFL Draft and what the outlook for each player could be.

Every QB selection in the 2023 NFL Draft

1. Bryce Young, Panthers (1st round, 1st overall)

1. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Panthers. Bryce Young. 87.

The Carolina Panthers traded a lot to get up and make this pick. Bryce Young is certainly one of the most polished passers coming up from the college ranks in the last couple of years, and what he lacks in size he makes up for with playmaking ability, high football IQ, and leadership qualities.

2. CJ Stroud, Texans (1st round, 2nd overall)

. CJ Stroud. 2. Pick Analysis. Texans. player. 10. Scouting Report

In somewhat of a surprise move, the Houston Texans took CJ Stroud with the second overall pick despite a ton of rumors they would pass on him and possibly punt the QB situation to next year. I think they made the right call, especially then moving up into the third overall spot and also landing Will Anderson Jr. Stroud is going to come in with high expectations but he undoubtedly renews hope for a franchise that was in disarray just a couple of years ago.

3. Anthony Richardson, Colts (1st round, 4th overall)

. Anthony Richardson. 3. player. 46. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Colts

You won’t see guys like Anthony Richardson at the QB position coming out of the college ranks every year. Richardson is built like a Transformer. He is a 10/10 on the RAS scale. He has every physical trait imaginable including a rocket for an arm. New Colts head coach Shane Steichen will need to work his magic quickly to get Richardson ready to start NFL games after limited college experience.

4. Will Levis, Titans (2nd round, 33rd overall)

. Titans. 4. 35. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. Will Levis

It was at least a little surprising to see Will Levis fall to the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft after a lot of hype leading up to that weekend. Levis’ fall in the draft wasn’t overly surprising when you consider his on-field play, however. Levis was inconsistent despite his tremendous talent. I think he landed in a good spot with the Titans where Ryan Tannehill will open the year as the starter with Levis nipping at his heels.

5. Hendon Hooker, Lions (3rd round, 68th overall)

Hendon Hooker. 5. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. . Lions. 50

Hendon Hooker was one of the best value picks on Day 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft. He was playing extremely well last year at Tennessee before going down with a knee injury. He may have been on a first-round trajectory prior to that injury so getting him at pick no. 68 overall is a really worthwhile gamble for GM Brad Holmes and the Lions. This is a great pick.

6. Jake Haener, Saints (4th round, 127th overall)

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Jake Haener. player. 15. . Saints. 6

Jake Haener has wasted little time making his mark on the NFL. His photoshoot at the NFLPA Rookie Premiere went viral:

The Saints got themselves a very intriguing backup QB with potential to be an eventual spot starter.

7. Stetson Bennett, Rams (4th round, 128th overall)

Pick Analysis. Stetson Bennett. player. Scouting Report. . Rams. 7. 51

Stetson Bennett left Georgia as one of the more decorated QBs in school history, and he now joins another former Bulldogs legend in Matthew Stafford as a member of the LA Rams. Bennett is landing in a tremendous situation with Sean McVay as his coach and given Stafford’s injury history, it’s not out of the question that he’ll play in 2023.

8. Aidan O’Connell, Raiders (4th round, 135th overall)

. Raiders. 28. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Aidan O'Connell. 8. player

The Las Vegas Raiders actually acquired this selection from the Patriots, so there’s a lot going on behind the scenes here. Given the injury status of Jimmy Garoppolo, could we actually see Aidan O’Connell play in 2023?

9. Clayton Tune, Cardinals (5th round, 139th overall)

Scouting Report. Cardinals. 9. 32. Pick Analysis. . Clayton Tune. player

The Arizona Cardinals needed some upside in their QB room behind Kyler Murray, whose injury status for 2023 has this team potentially looking at a tank. Hopefully, we’ll get to see plenty of reps for Clayton Tune throughout the preseason.

10. Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Browns (5th round, 140th overall)

Scouting Report. 10. 53. Pick Analysis. . Browns. Dorian Thompson-Robinson. player

The Browns took a worthwhile shot on Dorian Thompson-Robinson at this stage. Thompson-Robinson has outstanding arm talent and athleticism and was one of the most improved passers in college football over the last couple of years.

11. Sean Clifford, Packers (5th round, 149th overall)

Packers. . Pick Analysis. Sean Clifford. 11. player. 49. Scouting Report

The Packers sort of surprised everyone with this selection. Sean Clifford didn’t receive many “draftable” grades from NFL Draft analysts but he now looks to be the potential QB2 to Jordan Love. Could the Packers really enter a season in which they are one snap away from Sean Clifford playing substantial snaps?

12. Jaren Hall, Vikings (5th round, 164th overall)

Vikings. 60. Scouting Report. . Jaren Hall. 12. player. Pick Analysis

The Minnesota Vikings were rumored to potentially be interested in QBs as early as the first round, so it was a little odd to see them wait all the way until round five to take one. At any rate, Jaren Hall could have been picked much higher than this so this looks like a good value. Hall has some nice upside this late in the draft.

13. Tanner McKee, Eagles (6th round, 188th overall)

Eagles. player. 13. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. . Tanner McKee. 54

Stylistically, I’m not sure there is a more polar opposite from Jalen Hurts than Tanner McKee. The Eagles tried this a year ago with Carson Strong as an undrafted player as well, and that didn’t turn out great. We’ll see if it can be any better for Tanner McKee in 2023.

14. Max Duggan, Chargers (7th round, 239th overall)

. Max Duggan. 13. Pick Analysis. Chargers. 14. player. Scouting Report

The Los Angeles Chargers simply loved the TCU program last season. They drafted three of the eight Horned Frogs that went in this year’s class, including Max Duggan, who will provide a QB3 option with some athleticism and moxie.
