3 QBs under the most pressure entering the 2023 NFL season

Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos

There may not be another player in the NFL under more pressure than Russell Wilson in 2023. Depending on how the year goes for Wilson, he could find himself as the unquestioned starter of the Broncos or unemployed for a little bit.

Wilson came over from the Seattle Seahawks after a decade of Hall of Fame football. The idea was that Wilson finally gave the Denver Broncos a legitimate QB, one that had been escaping them since Peyton Manning retired. Well, for whatever reason you believe, the Broncos and Wilson were pathetically bad in 2022.

I personally believe the inept coaching and devastating injuries had more to do with them being bad than Wilson’s performance, but that’s just me. Not only did the Broncos not have a QB for years, but their head coaches were iffy at best.

That changed when they brought in Sean Payton to be the head coach. Payton brings nearly two decades of offensive genius to Denver which includes a regular-season winning percentage of over 60% and a Super Bowl title.

If there was anyone in the NFL who could fix Wilson, it’s Payton. There really are no excuses in 2023 for Russell Wilson. The Broncos drastically improved their offensive line in free agency and should get all of Tim Patrick, Javonte Williams, and Garett Bolles back from season-ending injuries.

The Broncos have one of the better stables of skill players on offense in the NFL, and Payton is going to be the wizard behind making the magic.

I think Russell Wilson is under the most pressure of any QB in the NFL in 2023.
