Miami Dolphins @ Las Vegas Raiders, 4:25 PM ET
The Miami Dolphins face off against the Las Vegas Raiders in a matchup of two of the five worst teams in the sport this year. At least, that is how it feels. The Dolphins are embracing a full-scale rebuild, so this could take some time, and you do have to give the new-look franchise some credit for actually going down a legitimate rebuilding path.
The Malik Willis signing feels a bit odd given the timing of it all, and even if the team didn’t sign Willis and still had Tagovailoa, for example, they’d still be looked at as one of the worst in the league.
This team simply does not have the roster talent to compete with virtually anyone this year, so as bad as the Raiders might be this year, they are the better team, even with Kirk Cousins starting. Maxx Crosby, the Raiders star pass-rusher, should have no issue exposing a weak Dolphins’ offensive line, and the Raiders do actually have enough offensive talent to expose the talentless Dolphins’ defense.
However, I do believe that this game is going to feature much of the ‘bad football’ that we see in Week 1. Neither team is particularly good or intimidating much of anywhere, so this could end up being a game where the team that makes the fewest mistakes ends up winning.
For now, we’ll take the Raiders in this one, as they feel like the better team and also get this game at home. In the long run though, as 2026 progresses, neither Miami nor Las Vegas will win much of anything this year, but the Raiders do have Fernando Mendoza, who could end up starting a large handful of games this year.
